Bolt Duffel Bag

I've now used the bolt duffel (small, single compartment) for a few outings and I'm pleased with the quality, utility, and style of the bag. I was looking for a bag to better accommodate 1-2 day work trips, rather than a bag to bring in addition to my wheeled carry-on luggage. I originally ordered the large duffel, and found that it was a bit large and bulky for this need -- I would estimate the large duffel could hold anywhere from 4-7 days of clothing. For trips of that length, I'd prefer to opt for luggage instead of a duffel. I most recently used it when I needed to commute straight to a work meeting from the gym -- I packed my laptop, notebook, a change of clothes, a snack, and some toiletries, and everything fit, with a little bit of room to spare. While the front and back compartments appeared well equipped to hold a large water bottle, I found that my water bottle was drooping a bit in the pocket; I think those pockets are a better place to stow phone, keys, etc. on the go.

I chose the canvass with grizzly leather, and I am happy with this choice. The canvass and leather are attractive and have a quality, durable feel. The bag maintains its shape relatively well when empty.

Lastly, I had originally ordered the large duffel and decided to return it and instead order the small. In doing so, I found Waterfield's customer service to be responsive, professional, and effective.

Overall highly recommend this bag!

I have purchased a number of Waterfield products over the years. Every one of them is the highest quality. They are always beautifully made, well designed and look great. I just used this bag on a few day trip and was very happy with it. I am looking forward to my next trip just to be able to use it again!

This is a great duffel and I really like the flexible mid liner, it's a really smart way to use space! This is my second purchase from SF Bags, and will definitely not be my last!

I am using this bag for carry on. I love the size and the space. Holy moly you can get a lot in there. Beautifully made, Canvas material is really beautiful, and leather in all the right places. Another great waterfield bag!

I have been a Filson fan for over 25 years and although most of their older style bags are still US made newer additions to their bag line-up are not!. I own multiple Filson bags but have never purchased a duffel bag from them for two reasons. The first being that I don't care for putting all my stuff into one large open space due to the lack of organization and some items of clothing possibly getting "mashed" or misplaced within all the contents! The other thing that I noticed on my nephew's medium size Filson Duffel is that the zipper does not go completely from end to end thus making it more difficult to pack completely or limiting one's ability to find items within a full bag. I also like the fact that your products are thoroughly thought out and in regard to the Bolt Duffel Bags that either size meet the size requirements of most airlines to go in the overhead compartments and the fact that your divided lining shifts and moves from thick to thin depending how the contents change from one side to the other while on a trip! I first learned of Waterfield SF Bags from searching on eBay! I also compared the NutSac duffel to your Bolt Duffel in making my final determination. The Nutsac duffel has no divided inner compartment available and I also like the idea of the waterproof zippers on your Bolt Duffel as compared to the zipper with snap weather cover on NutSac's Duffel making it an extra step in opening and closing their bag. The NutSac duffel is also an attractive bag In my opinion but your Bolt Duffel Bag won out hands down over NutSac's version in my purchase decision based on looks and overall functionality! I chose the large double compartment version in waxed canvas with chocolate leather and liked the look so well that I also purchased the full size Hip Sling Bag in the waxed canvas with chocolate leather to match! The moment I opened the box I knew that I had made the right decision as they make a handsome pair that will last me the rest of my life! I will now look to Waterfield SF bags for any further bag purchases as I am sold on them. Thanks Gary!
