NEW! Shinjuku Sling

I ordered this bag but then a day later I ordered a bag from a different company that I thought I would like better. Instead of canceling this one, I figured I’d let it arrive and see what I thought once I had it in hand. Turns out that this is the perfect bag for me; I’ve never really used a bag like this before, but I took it on a work trip this past week and found myself not wanting to leave my hotel room without it. It was able to fit hand sanitizer, my wallet, my hotel keys, my AirPods, a pen, and even my Kindle Paperwhite (without a case) with room for a few more small things. What I thought was going to be something I use on occasion is without a doubt going to be an everyday thing and my pockets will have never felt lighter.

Construction seems excellent and it also just looks really good. The zipper pulls sounded a little loud to me while I was handling the bag, but they aren’t not bad at all when you’re walking.

This thing is very well made. I love the quality. It’s the perfect size for what I need.

This is a great bag for when you don’t need a lot: phone, keys, ear buds, wallet, emergency jacket, reading glasses etc. As with all things made by WaterField Designs, it is attractive, sturdy and highly functional.

I wanted to love this, but I have to send it back. Even reading the measurements, I was stunned at how small it ended up being. This design is so well suited for a larger version and it's such a shame because I love almost everything else. My only other complaint is the strap. It is very rough as it lays on your skin, and the edges are basically serrated and it cuts into your skin as you swing it around front to back. A soft, silky strap is a core necessity for a sling due to the way it is worn over just one shoulder, and a rough strap negates the primary advantage of a sling which is the ability to swing it from your back to your chest and back. Unless you are careful to take almost all of the pressure off of the strap, it will leave a mark. I also bought the Vitesse Sling and it's more useful, but unfortunately has the same strap problem. The Shinjuku Sling is just a growth spurt and strap change away from perfection. Also big thanks for offering it in so many color choices. I am overloaded on so many previous brown waxed canvas Waterfield purchases and needed some color variety.

It just keeps getting better! This is my second product from Waterfield since discovering the company just a few months ago. I can't wait to discover what is next. Superior craftsmanship and expeditious service. What a winning combination.
