WaterField Introduces the Packable Duffel – an Indispensable, Expandable Travel Bag

San Francisco, CA — June 22, 2021 — WaterField unveils the versatile Packable Duffel, a 15 oz. lightweight yet substantial duffel that packs into an interior pocket for stashing into a suitcase or bag. The Packable Duffel is the third of four lightweight, durable, community-designed travel bags in the company’s Packable Bag Collection.
Cinching mechanisms allow the Packable Duffel to expand or contract from 30 to 24 liters to fit various size loads. A beautiful liner adds durability and is easy to clean. Pockets with waterproof zippers keep small items organized and protected from the elements, and the bag’s custom high-tech fabric remains unwrinkled and sleek enough to take anywhere.
“Most packable duffels lack water-resistance or durability and can look like a crumpled mess when unpacked,” said Gary Waterfield, company owner. “Our custom Taslan textile is lightweight, waterproof, rugged, and structured, so it stays pretty much wrinkle-free when you unfold it. The Packable Duffel folds into itself and takes up very little space in your suitcase, so it makes a great insurance policy in case you end up heading home from your next trip with more than you came with.”
Two weatherproof, zippered pockets safeguard valuables — one on the front that includes a sewn-in key hook and another inside the duffel. There are four ways to carry the versatile Packable Duffel: comfortable straps are long enough to wear over the shoulder and short enough to hold by hand, a rear strap slides over a wheeled suitcase handle for a hands-free carry through airports, and the interior zippered pocket compactly stows the folded duffel so it can be carried within another bag.
“I travel everywhere now with my Packable Duffel,” said company owner Waterfield. “I can scrunch it down to fit into a crowded overhead bin or even stuff it underneath the seat in front of me when it’s not packed to the brim.”
The new foldable duffel is made from a custom combination of soft-to-the-touch, fine-textured Taslan nylon, laminated with tricot fabric for structure. A custom micro-porous coating repels water and wrinkles but allows breathability, and a silver, diamond-patterned, ripstop nylon liner illuminates the interior and is easy to clean.
