The Vitesse Collection reflects owner Gary Waterfield’s years as a Boston bicycle messenger and General Manager of a mountain bike company. Waterfield retained the straightforward design and lightweight convenience of the classic cycling bags — the cycling race musette and the bicycle messenger bag — and added features to enhance durability, comfort, and utility.

New paragliding-style buckles attach to adjustable tabs to secure the canvas or leather flap. These modern buckles open easily with one hand and close with a gratifying click. A new leather top handle facilitates a quick grab from a car seat, café chair, or overhead rack.
An easily adjustable nylon strap is sewn at an angle for comfort; it lies flat against a wearer’s side when worn as a shoulder bag and flat against the back when worn as a crossbody bag. Like the classic bike musette and messenger bags, the Vitesse bags have one large main compartment but add interior pockets and extra space for both small personal items and for larger gear—lunch, books, a tablet or laptop in a sleeve (sold separately), and a light jacket.
The full-sized Vitesse Messenger features additional pockets: one in the interior to stow a laptop or tablet within a protective sleeve (sold separately), and one large exterior pocket accessible from either side through waterproof zippers that includes a scratch-free smartphone pocket inside.
